Treat your Dinner Guests to a Favor!

Everyone loves a gift especially an unexpected gift, so what better way to let your friends know their special and dress up your table than to purchase a cute favor for each guest and put it at their place setting. Whether it is a wedding rehearsal dinner, Anniversary dinner party or just a get together of family and friends a cute little favor for each guest to take home to remind them of the special evening will be appreciated by everyone.

The best way to chose a favor is to start with the color scheme of the room your dinner party will be held in and the color of the linens that will be on the tables. You want your little favors to be seen so they should stand out against the linens on the tables. For example if the linens are white then you might select a mini cross place card holder in burgundy or light brown to hold a card with the name of each guest. However, if the linens are a dark color then select the mini cross place card holder favor in ivory, light blue or a mini angel ivory place card holder favor if these colors will blend with the walls and accessories in the room where the dinner party is being held. Carry these colors through with the centerpieces as well and if possible use linen napkins in the same color as your cute favor also. These place card holder favors can be used for mini photo holders by your guests for many years to come reminding them of the wonderful dinner they shared with you!

If your event is a more casual or outdoor dinner you can add fun and color to your table with a cute little favor as well. An outdoor safari themed dinner party table could be enhanced with an adorable monkey candle favor for each of your guests. If your party is taking place in the fall place a falling leaves wine bottle stopper favor or a lustrous leaf copper-finish bottle stopper at each of your guests place settings.

What ever the occasion to get together with your friends and family remember everyone loves a surprise gift no matter how little. Just a reminder when they return home of how much they enjoyed the good food and fellowship they had with you!

 Lucky in Love

Do you feel like the luckiest woman in the world now that you have found your true love and are planning the wedding of your dreams? Have you decided on a color scheme and a feel for the wedding; however, would really like to have a theme? What about using “Lucky in Love” as your theme! There are many ways you can weave the theme of luck through out your ceremony and reception. Some of them you are probably already doing. Almost all brides have “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in your shoe”. This tradition came from the Victorian period and has a lot of meanings: something old (a piece of jewelry) represents the connection with her “old” family; something new (the gown) signifies the new beginnings, something borrowed (the veil/hanky from a happily married friend) has to be returned in good condition after the event to bring good luck, something blue (blue is the color of fidelity), and a silver sixpence is for future wealth (many brides and grooms exchange coins and wear them during the wedding as a symbol of prosperity and good luck). Many weddings include the throwing of rice, confetti or flower petals to bring good luck, fertility, richness and prosperity.

There are many ways to carry your theme through all areas of your ceremony and reception. You can include lucky bamboo or clover in your bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces. If you are having a casual wedding or having children at your wedding you can include games of luck for your guests to play. Such as, have a jar full of marbles in your wedding colors on a table and have your guests throughout the reception guess how many marbles are in the jar. Near the end of the reception see which guest is the luckiest guest of all and guessed closest to the actual number of marbles in the jar. Have a cute little gift for this guest.

Don’t forget to include a lucky little favor for each of your guests as well! A cute little favor idea is a set of natural bamboo eco-friendly coasters for each of your guests. These could be displayed on a table with lucky bamboo or placed at each table setting on top of the plate with the napkin folded under them. Everyone knows that elephants with their trunks up are lucky! Give each of your guests a silver-finish lucky elephant place card/photo holder to take home as a remembrance of your “Lucky in Love” themed wedding! You can use these cute little elephant favors as place card holders at each place setting or put your favorite engagement photo in it and create a display on a table with lucky bamboo. Your guests will be so excited to have a lucky silver elephant and a photo of the lucky couple to take home at the end of the night.

Good Luck!

Cute Little Favors Team.
